From medical to hospital to dental and prescription drugs, active and retired participants can learn about their eligibility, network providers, coverage and co-payments, as well as obtain forms and learn about programs and services.
Planning for retirement is one of the most important steps a participant can take. Eligible participants can learn about their applicable pension plans, as well as benefits provided under their 401(k) plan and Annuity Plan.

To add a newborn child to your Medical and Dental Plans, submit an Add/Delete Dependents Form
To add a newly-adopted child to your Medical and Dental Plans, submit an Add/Delete Dependents Form (PDF, 54K) to the Joint Industry Board upon the child’s adoption or placement for adoption.
The Dental Benefit Plan of the Electrical Industry and the Dental Benefit Plan of the Elevator Industry(“The Dental Plans”)
Coverage for a dependent child ends when the child reaches age 26.
Under the Dental Benefit Plan of the Electrical Industry and the Dental Benefit Plan of the Elevator Industry, coverage for an unmarried dependent child over age 19 ends on the day the child is no longer a full-time student.
Under the Dental Benefit Plan of the Electrical Industry and the Dental Benefit Fund of the Elevator Industry, coverage for an unmarried dependent child over age 19 ends on the day the child is no longer a full-time student
Under the Dental Benefit Plan of the Electrical Industry and the Dental Benefit Plan of the Elevator Industry, coverage for a dependent child ends on the day the child marries.
If you get divorced, submit an Add/Delete Dependents Form and a copy of your final divorce decree to the Members’ Records Department at the Joint Industry Board as soon as possible after your divorce is effective
In the event of a participant’s death, the participant’s spouse or other beneficiary must notify the Joint Industry Board and submit a certified copy of the participant’s death certificate as soon as possible.
When your phone number changes, notify the Members’ Records Department at the Joint Industry Board.
For COBRA continuation of medical and dental coverage
If your Workers’ Compensation and/or disability benefits are provided by E.E.S.I.S.P., you must contact them immediately at (718) 591-2000, ext. 1250.

If you are an active member of the PHBP Medical Plan and over age 65, you will continue to be covered by the Plan as you were before age 65.
Training and education are primary goals and functions of JIB's Joint Apprenticeship Training Program. The continuing education program provides safety and advanced technology courses to help members maintain their skills and keep them up-to-date on the latest advancements.
